Iowa has made many national headlines under one-party control, most of which involve taking key civil rights and freedoms away from our most vulnerable citizens. As a member of the LGBT community, I will fight for the rights of all Iowans because this is a fight we owe it to ourselves and our neighbors to have.
At the statehouse, I will:
Repeal Iowa’s abortion ban and restore the protections of Roe v. Wade to Iowa women.
Restore gender identity as a protected class under the Iowa Civil Rights Act.
Adopt common-sense solutions to reduce gun violence in our state, including background checks and establishing a red flag law in Iowa.
Redirect Iowa gambling revenues to support mental health and addiction treatment programs in the state.
Reverse the erosion of civil rights in Iowa by protecting vulnerable populations in Iowa, especially women, people of color, and members of the LGBTQ community.
